1.WHAT INSPIRED YOU IN THE BEGINNING TO PICK UP A CAMERA AND SHOOT WHAT YOU DO?
The reason to pick up the camera was very personal. Because of the change of educational system in my country I had to stop my philosophy phd studies. So, for me photography is philosophy in terms of visual communication.
2.WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A PARTICULAR SHOT?
To be honest it depends from shot to shot. But in general I am mostly focused on basic relationship between the visual elements. I also like to combine different common objects in meaningful visual sentences.
3.HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INTO PHOTOGRAPHY?
I’ve been seriously into photography for 3 years now
4.WHAT “KIND” OF PHOTOGRAPHER WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF?
I try to be focused on surroundings rather than to myself.
5.DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVOURITE PHOTOGRAPHERS THAT YOU LOOK UP TO OR THAT INSPIRE YOU?
Always when photographing I try to forget images in my head. But of course there are photographers which I deeply respect and admire: Gilbert Garcin, Peter Keetman, Philip Halsman, Helmut Newton, Herbert List, and others.
6.WHAT MAKES YOU TAKE AN INTEREST IN ANOTHER PERSON’S PHOTOGRAPHY?
I like authors who don’t strive to please the spectator with shallow aesthetics, but, instead of that, stimulate to think.
7.WHAT ARE THE BEST/WORST PARTS ABOUT MEETING ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER?
Photography itself is always place of meeting between the author and the spectator. The nicest meetings for me are those which change me, the worse are those which leave me empty.
8.COULD YOU DESCRIBE A GOOD LEARNING EXPERINECE?
Process of learning and questioning is endless. The best way is to experiment and be open to constructive (self) criticism.
9.COULD YOU DESCRIBE A BAD LEARNING EXPERINECE?
A bad learning experience for each photographer is to get blind of internet and other ovations.
10.WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN YOUR DEVELOPMENT AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?
There were more, but I would like to point out the friendship with Slovenian photographers Matej Peljhan and Alen Lacijan. They’ve helped me endlessly with my personal and photographic development
11.WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I mostly use Canon 5DII and 24–105 lens. I also love to experiment with Nikon F75 and different types of films. Of course lensbaby is always with me too.
12.IF THERE WERE FEW THINGS YOU COULD RECOMMENT TO ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER TO KEEP IN MIND DURING THEIR OWN DEVELOPMENT, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
I would not dare to say anything, because photography in my opinion resists in the gap between subjectivity and objectivity. It is just a way of expression which is always bounded with the limits of the motives of the self. Nevertheless, my message is, to be a photographer one need to stop making pictures.
